Billy Hattaway Joins Fehr & Peers
We’re excited to welcome Orlando Transportation Leader Billy Hattaway to our team.
With a distinguished career spanning 43 years in the transportation industry, Billy Hattaway makes a difference in communities with his expertise in transportation safety. He is well known for successfully championing changes to roadway design standards to incorporate complete streets concepts, making community infrastructure safe for all users. Now he’s excited to bring his leadership, knowledge, and insight to Fehr & Peers.
Billy’s executive leadership in the industry has spanned both the public and private sectors, providing him with a wide range of perspectives from several high-profile management positions. He led multiple large initiatives in his total combined 28 years with the Florida Department of Transportation, driving change in the development of safety and complete streets initiatives and earning multiple awards. For the past four years, Billy served the City of Orlando as Transportation Director, where he completely transformed the way streets were designed and led the development of Vision Zero policy and action plans.
Joining our growing Orlando office team this month, Billy will use his experience and energy to partner closely with community leaders, agencies, private clients, and community members to plan and collaborate all the way from concept to construction reality in order to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors through transportation safety for all. He’ll have a particular focus on Vision Zero, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and complete streets. With his deep local knowledge and experience, Billy will build and enhance relationships with a wide variety of clients, including those in the private sector, local municipalities, and the Department of Transportation.
Billy first learned of Fehr & Peers when he was based in Florida but working on the West Coast, where his coalition teamed with Fehr & Peers to provide them with local knowledge. As our firm expanded to Orlando, Billy was drawn to Fehr & Peers as he recognized how closely the goals of our company align with his own. He saw the passion and vision for complete streets and Vision Zero that Fehr & Peers embodies, and knew it was a great fit for his own goals and interests. Well aware of the meaningful needs for safety and the differences that can be made in his local communities, Billy is ready to get started teaming together and working with clients and members of our firm, both in Orlando and across the country. With his deep interest and resources in leadership development as well, he’ll also have meaningful contributions to make to the subsidiary of Fehr & Peers focused on coaching great leaders, Left Lane Advisors.
We warmly welcome Billy to our team, and look forward to the contributions he will make and the experience he will bring in our mission to serve and improve communities.
